Board Elections

The Annual General Meeting in September each year is your opportunity to decide who will represent you on the Shuswap Theatre Board of Directors. You may consider whether you would like to stand for election yourself or to nominate someone else (with their permission).
Our new bylaws, adopted in 2014, state:
- All members standing for Director must be members of the Society in good standing and be a member at least 14 days prior to the AGM.
- Directors will hold office commencing at the beginning of the monthly Directors meeting following the AGM and expiring at the commencement of the first Directors meeting following the AGM.
- To be eligible for election, a member must agree to stand at least 7 days before the election is called [September 15, this year] and confirm receipt of information about Board expectations and duties. The completed form is to be addressed to the President of the Theatre who will ensure it is received by the Nominating Committee.
- Candidates will be asked to provide information about themselves and their reasons for wishing to serve which will be available to Society members prior to the election. [Please email a copy to the webmaster for posting on this site.]
All persons considering standing must read the Board Members Orientation document. The new bylaws do not allow nominations from the floor, reflecting the belief that taking on this responsibility requires forethought and knowledge of the expectations.
