The Secret Garden

Book and Lyrics by Marsha Norman
Music by Lucy Simon
Based on  the novel by Frances Hodgson Burnett

Directed by Liz Hobbs
Music Direction by Kelly Coubrough and Jean MacLennan

Some call it a children’s story, but it’s very much a grown-up story, too. The Secret Garden examines love, loss and renewal. This enchanting musical follows the indomitable spirit of the young orphaned Mary Lennox, who is sent to her uncle’s gloomy estate in Yorkshire, England, where she becomes determined to restore the beauty of an abandoned, secret garden. Surrounded by spirits from the past, Mary discovers the courage that comes if you have the will to grow. Her efforts restore much more than the garden. This beloved tale is sure to warm your heart.
Note: this play is 2½ hours long and unlikely to be suitable for children under 10. A haze machine will be used during the performance.

The Secret Garden is presented by arrangement with Concord Theatricals.   www.concordtheatricals.com
