Acting Basics Workshop

Posted on September 2, 2025 in General News

October 3-4, 2025

Have you ever wanted to try your hand at acting in a play? But maybe you have been reluctant to audition because you thought you didn’t know enough? If so, then this free workshop is for you.

While actors with some experience might also benefit, the workshop is designed with the beginner in mind. Aimed at adults, we welcome participants 16 and older. You’ll learn about theatre lingo, stage directions, movement, voice, how to understand and develop your character, and even the art of learning lines (it’s easier than you might think). In addition, you’ll learn about how to work with the director and fellow cast members, and you’ll even be given some tips about how to prepare for an audition.

There will be information you can take away on paper, but the workshop will be highly experiential, so dress in comfortable clothes that allow movement. Shoes are required for safety.

Times

Friday, October 3 from 6:30 to 9:00 pm
Saturday, October 4 from 10:00 am to 4:30 pm
