Beetlejuice Jr.

Beetlejuice Jr.

July 25-27

The ghost-with-the-most comes to the stage in Beetlejuice Jr., the frightfully funny musical based on the beloved motion picture turned Broadway phenomenon. Lydia Deetz is a strange and unusual teenager, still grieving the loss of her mother and obsessed with the whole “being dead thing.” Lucky for Lydia, she and her father move to a new house haunted by a recently deceased couple and Beetlejuice, a delightful demon with a real zest for life. When Lydia calls on Beetlejuice to scare away anyone with a pulse, this double-crossing specter shows his true stripes, unleashing a (Nether)world of pandemonium.

Moving Theatre Performing Arts, in partnership with Shuswap Theatre, presents this fully staged performance of Beetlejuice Jr.  The young performers have worked hard for three weeks under professional instruction, learning the songs, choreography and actions of this popular show.

Announcing Our New Season

Announcing Our New Season

The Artistic Committee has been hard at work reading plays and considering our resources. We’re excited to announce the 2025-26 lineup:

  • Into the Woods (November) the popular Sondheim musical take on a collection of our favourite fairly tale characters.
  • Ripcord (Feb-March), a hilarious comedy about two incompatible room mates in an old folks home and the out-of-control bet they make with each other. Funny but poignant, too.
  • The Book of Will (May), based on the true story of Will Shakespeare’s best friends struggling to preserve his plays in uncorrupted form after his death. Full of wit and wisdom.
