Radio Play on Voice of the Shuswap

Posted on November 22, 2013 in General News

colour logoA group of Shuswap Theatre Members, initiated by Patrick Allwood, recorded an old fashioned radio play, first aired in 1944, titled A Play on Words. Written by a young Lister Sinclair it cleverly explores many aspects of how we understand words and their meanings and how we communicated. It ends with  a serious message about the word courage, appropriately enough for an audience living through the second world war. A Play on Words is directed by Julia Body and was recorded by Leah Shaw at the Shuswap Theatre. It was aired on CKVS Voice of the Shuswap on November 11th.  Click here to read more about VOTS 93.7fm

The troupe elected to maintain the original language of the piece, in which masculine language is intended to be gender inclusive. Give a listen and enjoy.
