2011 Civic Election

Candidates’ Positions on a New Theatre Building

The Shuswap Theatre Building Committee sent a letter to all candidates for the 2011 Salmon Arm Municipal Election. The letter asked candidates to indicate their thoughts about how the City should respond to the new theatre initiative and listed a number of ways that the City could show support. The candidates were also given a brief history of Shuswap Theatre and of the Building Committee. It was requested that responses be received by October 28th and candidates were advised that theatre members would be informed by email about their responses. Ten candidates responded, some in great detail. All ten indicated support of our initiative and appreciated the opportunity to express their interest. This information is here  if you would like to share with anyone. Please take time to read these so that you can be more informed on voting day.

Warren Bell emailed with a simple, “Thanks”. No response was received by the October 28th deadline from Ted Bacigalupo, Debbie Cannon, Chad Eliason, Lynne Hawrys, Ivan Idzan, Ken Jamieson, Marg Kentel, John Lund, Skylar Plourde or Tomas Welsh.
